This week Kobe put of 61 while Lebron put up a triple double in the legendary Madison Square Garden. We all know the Knicks are a below average team especially on defense (coach D'Antoni never has been a great fan of defense see Phoenix Suns). Whose performance was more impressive. Check the stats below.

Kobe Bryant

19-31 FG 3-6 3pt FG 0 Rebounds 3 assists 0 steals 3 assists
1 block 2 TO
61 points in 37 minutes

Lebron James

17-33 FG 2 -7 3pt FG 16-19 FT
10 Rebounds 11 Assists 2 Blocks 0 Steals 3 TO
52 Points in 44 Minutes

Kobe Bryant Pros: 20 free throws made without a miss, 50% from 3 point range, done in less than 40 minutes

Kobe Brant Cons: No rebounds how is that possible for a starter; only 3 assists

Lebron Pros: Highest scoring triple double in NBA since the merger, High assist to turnover ratio almost 4:1

Lebron Cons: Only 28% from downtown, attempted more shots than Bryant but scored fewer points

I think a better measurement would be who plays better against good teams but for the sake of this arguement which performance was more impressive.

In my opinion, Lebron had a better performance at MSG over Kobe. Lebron only had 9 points less than Kobe, but he also had 10 more rebounds (LJ:10, KB:0), 8 more assists (LJ: 11, KB: 3), 1 more block (LJ: 2, KB: 1), even in steals (LB: 0, KB: 0), and only played 7 minutes more than Kobe (LB: 44, KB: 37). Lebron also has a 4:1 assist-to-turnover ration, which is real good.

kobe had the far better game. I mean the majority of his points came off of tough ass shots with three guys on or near him. They where almost all from at least 12ft from the basket, or farther away. Lebron on the other hand, had a hell of a game as well. Better stat line, but the points came off of layups and dunks. That to me dosent really show his greatness, but rather the lack of defense by the knicks. And he did as you already said, play 7 more minutes than kobe. Give kobe another 7 mins. and they guy could have had almost another 81pt thriller....
