Let me set the record straight before you young guys start crying over who's region is more better....Most adults in the south(21+) agree with the notion that these recent southern mc's are mediocre rappers.Everyone knows this, people in the south make club and bass music.Something to ride,or bounce to.The truth is the only strong sells in hiphop are ringtones.Lyrical ringtones dont sell.Simple catchy ringtones do.The business doesnt care if a guy is lyrical or not if the mutha fu*ka cant sell albums. The south didnt kill hiphop peer to peer sharing did.Start back buying albums and you will get your lyrics back.
Think about it with about 18 million people in new york along, why are artist struggling to go gold? You guys dont buy albums.I bet your phone is full of ringtones though.Yes the south needs to be more lyrical, but hiphop is dead regardless.Method Man with all his knowledge cant sell 300,000.If it was that simple of pointing the finger. You guys would have never heard of waka flocka flame, suits are stratagizing this whole main stream movement, even in low album sells markets, pockets still have to get fat. They care less about you,me,waka,or wu tang.
Lets stop having this conversation if we cant see the big picture, because all we are doing is saying the same sh*t over and over again...peace

SEE that is the thing no one is focused on..."FANBASE" you cant make money if your material is watered down and thrown together. You felt screwed when you bought that album,so hence forward not a dollar will go to mef from you...If artist focused on self and their personal "fanbase" they cant lose.Stop doing sh*t for HipHop,do it in the name of HipHop but for your fans.Stop relying on Mainstream Media.Go independent.Your fanbase will buy your albums hail, sleet, rain, snow.Even after they download the leak.Learn from Hammer,Master P,Bone Thugs N Harmony,Ice T. These guys taught us that fanbase first will carry you a long way,on top of that if you go independent you will sell less albums but make more money.
Whats better ...100,000 copies @ $5 vs. 500,000 copies @ $.03 an album
Moral of this message is,if your fans fu*k with you no matter how good or bad you may or may not suck as a rapper. That is who you should do music for...not hiphop, not the south, not the north, not for your homies or your mother....do it for your fans. You are an artist, paint a picture for them, take the time out to give them quality work. Its not all about the money, but if your base like lyrics give them lyrics,if they like abc 123 give them abc 123,but always stay true to them and always work to perfect your craft ....peace im going back to post more porn*search*bossdawg
