Running Windows XP home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2



now my question is I would love to start tweeking my desktops to look like some of those in here I really do not want to upgrade to vista if I do not have to my goal is to have something simular to this:

Its different ways to customize your desktop like:

WindowBlinds or WinStyles
DesktopX Themes
Bricopacks

they change up your whole look.

And i just name a few programs. I don't use programs like that just:
RK Launcher (dock)
Avedesk (I use for my icons)
Cd art display
Icontweaker
change my firefox theme
downloading different types of Visual Styles (taskbar and boarders)
background picture

you can ask me a questions if you want and I will answer if I know it.

how do u change just the icon for one folder, so its not the same for every other generic one..??

its actually as easy as copy and paste (assuming its mac osx, which it appears to be) right click (or control click) and select get info....then in the upper right hand corner you can click and select that icon......


well just do that for the image you want (copy) and then move over the the info screen on the folder you want and paste....pretty easy

Man I got a new Desktop PC with a 24inch LCD running a Q6600 Quad Core, G92 512mb DDR3 graphics card, and 4gigs of OCZ ram.

I must say this that all these sh*tty programs do is slow your computer WAAAAYYYYYYYY down.:smh:

I did alot of cool sh*t with the info in this thread don't get me wrong but, the strain these programs put on your cpu/ram/gc is not worth having my desktop look cool at least to me...:shrug:

Yeah, I don't see a need to customize Vista, really. On my laptop, I keep everything on default and nothing on the desktop with a nice wallpaper, simplistic. Overall, that way I get best performance with Vista.
