What is "rainmeter?"

its an app that allows you to "float" gadgets on your desktop instead of keeping them one one side.and you can find tons of customs ones unlike the basic ones you would use in the windows side bar for gadgets. if you look at my post of my laptop wall youll see i have clock, calander and other sh*t placed on my desktop.

I installed that Rain Meter yesterday and it didn't really work. I don't know if I did something wrong or something, but it wasn't working so I uninstalled it.

what happened ? it should have started you with a default set up. from there you can right click and close skins you dont want, leave atleast 1 so you can right click on it again and go to configs for single skins or themes for a whole set ups you may have installed

Well, I'm going to try again, but yesterday it would open then it would freeze and I wouldn't be able to use it and would have to close it. I'm going to try again now.

What is "rainmeter?"

Rainmeter is nothing but an program that monitors your system stats (even says it on their site), RSS, etc. My most recent screenshot is a prime example of Rainmeter in action. Very useful program IMO.

Keep in mind, Rainmeter is gonna be very complicated to you at first. You gonna be doing a lot of editing to get it the way you want it, so you better not be impatient or this program will rape you.

Eh.. somewhat right but the information is vague, nice try.

I could help out a little since I've been using Rainmeter for a good minute now and have somewhat a good understanding on how it works, coding and editing. Post a screenshot of you trying to run the program cause it should've installed and popped up with the default (Enigma) skin. What OS are you running? 32 or 64 bit? Make sure you grab the most recent installer package as well.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit as my OS.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and it installed fine on mine, I grabbed the 64bit installer. What is it doing when you try and install it? Did you run the installer as the admin? Search your PC to see if it is installed already.

I'm the only user on this computer so, yes, I'm an administrator. No, it's installed already. I uninstalled the last one and re-installed it just before and it still didn't work. It keeps freezing when it's open.

Hmm.. that's weird, with the program open and running open up your "Task Manager" and see if the program is running or not responding.

Right-Click on your "Task Bar"--> Start Task Manager--> Look under either "Applications" or "Processes" tab to see what's going on with "Rainmeter.exe."

Should tell you if it's running or not responding (program is frozen, errors, unstable, etc).

Just doesn't make any sense to me that you've did a fresh install and it's freezing. Hopefully you grabbed the stable installer and not a beta version.

When I open my Task Manager, Rain Meter isn't listed under Applications, only Processes, but there's nothing going on with it that I can see. It doesn't say it's not responding in there or anything. Only when I try to click on something on Rain Meter.

I went back to the site and double checked that I downloaded and installed the correct version and I did so I have no idea why it's freezing. Anything I try to do in Rain Meter just brings me to it freezing and Windows saying the program isn't responding and asks if I want to close or wait for the program to respond.

Hmm.. I've just checked online on forums, etc and I can't find a solution to why you're having that issue. No one seems to have the same issue as you as well, I dunno what to tell you.

Just doesn't make sense to me that you did a fresh install and the program just freezes.
