I dont know man...church is pretty boring to me only because its filled with a bunch of old people. If I was to go to like a baptist church or another church where they actually stand up and do something it wouldnt be so bad.

I used to go to bapist church and I couldn't really get into cause every other minute a collection plate is going around. It was really bad at the end when the Pastor said "Ushers don't let anyone out before giving their offering" :smh:

That is a touchy subject for people. My personal opinion is that you can worship god anywhere. Arron Gellispie from Underoath (Christian Hardcore Band) stated in an interview when asked the same question, He said "If jesus was here today he wouldnt be in church, he would be in the night clubs and pubs preaching the word" because quoted in the bible "Jesus complained about the church, stated that it was a place for christians to gather, but we really needed to be on the streets where sin flourish's and preach the word there"....I feel the same about this subject. It also states that your body is a vessel for your soul and the temple of god, you can worship anywhere you want as long as you worship.......church on sunday is misconcieved aswell, it states in the bible that god made the earth and everything in it in 7 days, on the 7 day he rested. It says that we should rest on the 7th day and not work , so thats why the church worships that day, there is no biblical law that you have to worship sunday. Some people also have there on twist on the religion and overdo it alot. The true teachings in the bible. I dont claim no dedomination when it comes to christianity, I believe in jesus, in god, and there word of god. I follow the word of the bible. So i guess it comes down to how you feel about it and wherether or not you would rather worship at church or somewhere else.....

Any God that needs to be worshiped is not for me. The Creator gave me the gift of life, no strings attached. I show my appreciation through my daily thoughts and actions, not by reading some boring book of fairy tales or filling a plate with my slave wages.

Churches are Filled with Hypocrites...who tried to tell you about God and what you should be doing with your life and judging those who don't go to church instead of worrying about if they doing right ... so I think i'll just thank the Lord at home

I believe that all of the major religions are wrong.
Assuming there is a god, then this God is nothing like us. Churches try to claim man was made in the image of God, although this is proabably not the case.
If God never lived the life of a human being and was never confined to a physical body, then his thoughts and needs would differ completely from us.
Our bodies and environment place on us many unseen limitations, such as the laws of physics, nature etc.. unlike us, God would not have emotion, as emotion is conducted by chemical signatures in the body. Without emotion God most likely would not feel the need to be loved or accepted, as these are human conditions that steer us toward socialising and mating.
Assuming God is a non-physical being of immense power, this begs the question: why would God want anything from us?
If God was so powerful as to create anything he desired, what could we possibly offer him that he couldn't attain himself..
The idea that we must worship him, would imply that God demands our attention or respect. Such demands would reflect the desire to be powerful or be a facet of the human characteristic of greed. Greed is a human trait that allows us to accumulate enough resources to live safetly, rise through the social hierarchy and gain control over others... achieving such means gives power and allows humans to attract a more worthy mate.
Yet God would automatically be at the top of the hierarchy, why would he exhibit greed when his power is limitless, he is already positioned as the most powerful entity in the universe, so obviously he doesn't desire power or the accumulation of resources.
Therefore its possible God is just a curious and creative being, his existence is autonomous with the universe.. and he may desire nothing from us, except to watch us evolve as a race.
Also there is the position, that even if God did demand our respect and intention as a condition for our creation, then the whole concept of churches is still wrong. If we are required to worship God, then there are only two level's in the religious hierarchy, God and then humans. This means God is the most important beings and all humans are equal, since they are all subject to God's will.
Yet presently within the church there is religious hierarchy of importance with figureheads such as the pope at the top of their respective churches / religious centres. If God bluntly desires us to worship him, then the hierarchy and setup of religions is completely irrelevant.. as both a priest and a normal member of the church are of the same level in gods eyes... they both worship him and thats all they have to offer him..
Just my view on the situation, feel free to argue on whatever point. Discussion opens the mind.

99.9% of these preachers is crooks along w/ these gay ass priest. Most of them screamin and shouting about bullsh*t when they run out of topics. doing a whole lot of talkin.... but ain't saying much.
Preachers are just another form of hustler$. Most of them are a disgrace to their own religion. They ridin around in nice whipz and sh*t, but can't take care of the church. No air conditioners or nothing.
I quit going to church when i was in elementary school. Whats the point if you daydreaming or sleepin through the service. Might as well be @ home smokin' a blunt:blunt:

i don't like going to church...
i'm a deeply spiritual person.....i believe in God and Jesus, i belive that Jesus is the son of God, i believe Jesus died for my sins.......
but on the other hand, since i'm an extremly 'logical' person, i feel like Christianity, and all other religions, were created to enforce morals and may have no actual basis in reality.....
the way i feel about it is if i live my life as well as i can, try to be a good person, i'm going to heaven......i don't feel i need to go into a building and listen to another person's interpretation of a book written by other people who were interpreting God/Jesus' thoughts.....
there's too much margin for error there for me......

I believe that things in our life are either positive or negative in effect. whether its church, school, or financial (work). Going to these places and participating and what goes on there will either be good or bad for you, period. It's either hurtful to your betterment in the area or helpful. So I guess what im asking is, can going to school, work, or church be harmful to you?....................I dont think so!!

it can if you go to school at Virginia Tech or Columbine HS, work at the post office or World Trade Center, or go to a black church the KKK plans to burn down.......

What I always wanted to know is why would Jesus need to die for our sins when God could have snapped his fingers and that woulda been taken care of......

because thousands of years later, after all is said and done, God snapping his fingers wouldn't mean as much to us as the torture and killing of his only son. Jesus' death was about sacrifice.

I read a Sister Souljah book awhile back [No Disrespect], and she had this line.. or should I say quote in there that I agree wit' 100%. It goes something like...
Every man [or person] is born with a bible / Qur'an in their heart. They know the difference between right and wrong, and don't need to be led around like sheep to know, what's what.
It was worded WAYYYYY better, but.. yeah, that's the jist of it! & I agree w/ it..... {FOR THE MOST PART}...

Yeah, alright. Well.. the MAJORITY of us.. have 'common sense'.. (ie: know right from wrong, etc.)
D.A.LIFF

^^common sense isn't instilled in us from birth, it's instilled in us by the people who raise us.......
it's not in our DNA, it's in our minds.........if nobody tells you that a stove might be hot, you're going to go touch it, even though it's common sense that the place you cook sh*t is going to be hot........
nobody is born knowing right from wrong, we're taught it........it's the parents' responsibilities to raise these children, and nobody wants to do it any more because of all the accidental births......kids are having kids and they don't know what to do.........
we're breeding more and more criminals, more and mroe crooked people.....which is part of the reason i don't go to church......fake people there, and because i don't live sin-free, i feel like a hypocrit going into a building and denouncing the things i'm probably going to go do within the next few days......
